Well here’s a sight you don’t see everyday, even here at Ebisu! Not only was this guy drifting an NSX, “the Japanese super car,” but a modified NSX! The car has a wide body aero kit and engine tuning that includes aftermarket camshafts coupled with remapping via an HKS FconV Pro. The most amazing thing about the day was the way he transported all his drift equipment, including 6 spare wheels! Check it out… The expensive front bumper was removed to protect it from damage...

I thought that for this second post from the MSC final it would be cool to take a walk through the paddock at Mobara's circuit, a great way to get a closer look at some of the cars that compete in this drift championship. As the sun set early on Tuesday afternoon the Super Class of MSC got down to the final battles. Here are the two Run Free AE86s flying past the apex of the judged corner, Yamashita grabbing second position overall making him the winner of the East-Japan league with 52 points. This is one car I haven't seen before, built by Auto Service Mori, a respected tuning shop well known for building some pretty powerful track cars. I've been meaning to drop by their workshop in Atsugi for some time...

I spotted this Ings-kitted Lexus LS this last summer at the Okayama round of D1, parked up in the VIP lot. It was probably running a ride-height controller to get the air-suspension to drop to their lowest setting I thought it looked pretty menacing. This low-riding Porsche 914-6 belongs to Speedhunters.com reader Martin, who sent me this stunning shot of his car. It sounds like quite a beast fitted with a close to 300 HP 3.5L flat-6, replacing the stock 110 HP 2L. On top of all the mechanical modifications, which also include 930 brakes and GT stiffening suspension plates, Martin also fitted the steel GT fender flares and had the rear ones further widened by 1-inch. We are all great admirers of Nakai-san and Rauh Welt here at Speedhunters. The cars that have rolled out of this small countryside body-shop in Chiba-ken have pretty much all assumed cult status. More shots of the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. So far, it has just been an acceptable event. Nothing great. The Lexus LF-A was the star of the show and other than that, there were only about three new cars launched and the girls, well let’s just say that we have better girls walking around The Pavilion than they do at the show. I still have some running around to do and people to meet, so here are the pictures first before I go into the details.

Looking for a holiday job in Australia? A car wash in Queensland capital Brisbane is advertising some vacant positions at the moment. They're looking for backpackers and travelers who want to earn some quick big bucks at this "small and exclusive car wash".
So what's the catch? Well, this is the Bubbles'n'Babes car wash and you've gotta be topless or nude to work there. It's a response to a drought-induced water shortage that's made it illegal for Brisbanites to wash their cars at home. Topless car washes start at $50, and full nudity (and a clean car) are $100.

Mercedes SLR McLaren
The new Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster, debuting in the fall of 2007, with a a carbon-fibre construction like today's Formula 1 cars, has a supercharged V8 engine under the hood of this high-performance sports car which propels it to a top speed of 332 km/h.
Mercedes and its Formula 1 partner, McLaren, have many years of experience with carbon-fiber that is conventionally used in the aviation and space industries. In an impact, carbon fibres have a level of energy absorption that is four to five times higher than that of steel or aluminium, while the weight advantage of this high-tech material over steel is around 50 per cent.
2008 Porsche 911 GT2
The 911 GT2 has a 50 hp upgrade over the standard 997 Turbo for a total of 530hp. This power increase is courtesy of two turbochargers with a larger compressor wheel and a flow-optimized turbine housing. The GT2 is only available with a 6 speed manual gearbox and RWD to cater to the real car enthusiasts and provide the best performance possible. The new Porsche GT2 does 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds and top speed of 204mph.

On a temporarily-closed 2 lane public highway in Washington State, the SSC Ultimate Aero posted a top speed of 257.11 mph (413.83 kph) on its first pass and 254.55 mph (409.71 kph) on its return pass, achieving a new top speed record: a staggering 255.83 mph (411.76 kph).

The new 2010 Ferrari California is the first hard-top convertible ever produced by Ferrari and the first to feature a mid-front positioned engine. Ferrari California features a new 4.3 liter V8 with direct injection and a flat crankshaft that will put out 460HP. The result is a 0-60mph of under 4 seconds
Corvette ZR1 Sports Car
The new 2009 Corvette ZR1 is a fast and powerful sports car. It has a 6.2-liter surpercharged engine with 638hp. The acceleration of 0-60mph time of just 3.4 seconds will make it reach reach 100mph from standstill in 7 seconds flat.
Audi GT3 Sports Car Race Car
Power for the Audi GT3 has been boosted to 500hp and the engineers digged deep into the technics to conform with GT3 standards. The four-wheel-drive system had to be replaced with a more conventional GT rear-wheel drive system and it is also equipped with a newly developed six-speed sports sequential gear box.

Today in The Bahamas, traffic stopped, pageant worthy hand-waves filled the air, and the crowd cheered, as the 2009 Miss Universe contestants took over Bay Street in Nassau. The contestants exchanged smiles and kisses with the onlookers as they sailed down the street on floats. Excitement and tension fills the air as the August 23rd date of the pageant continues to draws closer. The parade was given by The Islands Of The Bahamas for the contestants of the 2009 Miss Universe Competition.

Held the Friday before the more serious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Concorso Italiano has always been a sort of "people's car show" filled with hundreds of predominantly bright red street cars from the Italian California car clubs.
